When keeping your primary therapist is important.
You already have a therapist that you feel comfortable with and even though you’re feeling stuck in certain areas you don’t want to stop seeing them. Let’s face it, rapport is everything and finding a good fit can be difficult. This is where I come in…literally. You keep working with your trusted primary therapist AND work with me in the recommended intensive format.
I enjoy collaborating with other therapists, not only supporting you but honoring the journey and work you’ve already been doing together. Working in concert with your therapist by briefly adding adjunct EMDR for specific traumatic experiences can help the healing process continue moving forward. Since they know your history and present symptoms and goals, speak with your therapist to see if adjunct EMDR intensives might be a good fit.
With a targeted plan we all work together!
As a trauma therapist, I work with people that have experienced:
History of childhood or complex trauma
Recent or adult single incident trauma
Not feeling present
Difficulty managing emotions
Somatic symptoms
Low Self-esteem/Self-worth
Unresolved Grief/Loss
Busy minds
You may have heard other professionals use the following diagnostic terms in reference to your symptoms, or if you're specifically looking for therapy to address:
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Complex (C-PTSD)
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder (DPDR)
Somatic Symptom Disorders (SSD)
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Adjustment Disorder (AD)
Acute Stress Disorder (ASD)
